South Carolina gets hot. Black interior with leather seats.. No way. Went with the 2.0 engine not the 1.5 Turbo.

A friend of mine had one of the very early Honda Civic CVCCs with a 3 cylinder motorcycle engine, IIRC.  Early to mid 70s vintage.

They were also chain drive. They would have had more power if they had cut holes in the floorboard so they could have been powered by the passengers feet like the Flintstones cars.

Funny I told them I hadn't had a Honda since High School and it had 2 wheels. They upgraded at no charge to a 100000 mile warranty. Had it over 3 weeks and it has less than 250 mile.

Honda’s are very reliable. Had a 98 CRV that my parents bought used in 2001. My mom gave it to my wife when my dad passed in 2009. I sold it last year with 149K miles on it. I had a 2008 Honda Fit that I had for a while as a commuter car. Paid $4000 for it and got $3800 for it after driving it for two years.

We’re a five Honda family, including an HRV bought new last years. We’ve had some Toyota’s, but they had nit picky electrical problems.
Maybe Honda can teach Government Motors something about reliability.

Couple of weeks ago, I got rid of my 2011 Tahoe with 185k miles and bought a Honda CRV-EX.  Wifey has a Honda Pilot EX-L and youngest son has a CRV.  They both seem to be good vehicles thus far.  I drive about 80 miles a day back and forth to office and decided I was ready for 30 mpg instead of 18 mpg.  Plus it seemed like the transmission was getting a little weak, shifting in and out of overdrive more than I thought it used to.

Been considering a VW Passat. We drove one for a day, liked the back seat leg room and the generous trunk. They make several different styles of that model. We want to drive the SE, but they didn't have one in stock. A 100K mile warranty is nice. The wife is currently driving a 2011 Chevy Cruze with 66,000 miles on it, but it has had some minor problems crop up, making me not trust it completely. Our 50th anniversary is coming up in November, maybe she would like a gold VW???

When my wife retired, I promised her super sex that evening.

I was going to say Lamborghini. After all, they got their start first in making farming equipment. The guy liked fast cars and had some Ferrari's but they kept breaking. What did he do? Ah, not much, just start his own brand of supercars to compete with them.

A young guy I work with bought a new civic back shortly before covid. He likes the car but wishes he had moved up from the entry level model so that he could have gotten the more powerful turbo. (I believe he said about 10% more HP with the turbo) he said all you can get in the (LX base model) is the 2liter non turbo

That 2.0 V tech DOHC engine is bullet proof and proven. Turbo's cost a lot of money when they screw up.  I was actually surprised how the car accelerated. All in the transmission which in all reality acts like a centrifugal clutch on a go kart.  And as far as a base model, Honda has no options on their cars. They are all loaded standard with the latest safety features whereas you pay extra..even on the Jetta.
