"Original" M1 Carbine Paratrooper -
What would one be worth right now? Asking for my Buddy/next door neighbor. He just ran in to a guy he knows that is the Son of the WWII "Paratrooper" that brought it home. (?)
The guy wants to sell or trade it to my Buddy. (Another Gun afficianado.)
"Inland, no bayonet lug."

Without photos, difficult to say; both the seller & your buddy are flying blind."Original" means "all parts as when it left the factory. Most that you see are really in "arsenal rebuilt" condition. And, condition is also important, you evaluate as with any other gun. Rough guess, sight unseen, would be $1,500-4,000.Neal

There is one example on GB that looks straight:

Totally understand the "without photo's" aspect. Told my Buddy I would throw it out there (here) for a ballpark, or as MC has offerred, one to compare it to. My Buddy has not seen it yet. Just found about it/offered it a couple hours ago. His (out of date) Military Rifles and his M1 Carbine reference books are loaned out just now.
We are just trying to establish a "Ballpark." Thank you for the replies, much appreciated.
My Buddy and i both own nice unmolested M1 Carbines. Mine an Inland (1943) his a Rockola. More up to spead on what these are worth/going for.

If indeed "his Dad" brought it back at the end of WWII, I would imagine it is "original." if the guy is BSing & does not know what he has, then yes Arsenal Rebuild. My Buddy & I are aware these are frequently faked. Once he gets his hands on it, he knows what to look for.
Thanks for the Ball Park NM. I sent my Buddy the link MC, Thank you.
