Blocking "NR" users??? Credit card options?
I have been selling on gunbroker for a few months and overall had a decent experience. My biggest problem is with "NR" buyers not paying or wanting to pay with credit card even though I clearly have my payments options listed and a credit card is not one of them. Is is possible to block NR users? And if not, are their credit card options that do not involve setting up a merchant account? I know you can "discreetly" use paypal but I would rather not.

NPB are an ongoing problem. I also have someone wanting to pay with plastic when in fact the payment terms specifically call for cash, check or money order. You can block someone, but only after he has placed a bid. In the tips for sellers there is a long list of GB credit card payment options.

We all started out as NR buyers, and not all of us are like that. So blocking all NR bidders could hurt your sales....JMO... 0 -
I understand. It is just frustrating that all my non paying issues are with them. 2 months ago I watched an auction here for a M1911A1; starting price was $3,900, & a NR bidder won it at that price. A week later, seller posted 5 star FB, & thanked him for prompt payment. It sure worked for him. I'm guessing that mama got to go to dinner at Ruth's Chris' that night.Neal

I have seen verbiage in some auctions to the effect "NR bidders MUST contact seller BEFORE placing a bid". Then you at least have the contact with them. Then you might be able to get a sense if they're real and serious. At this point one could also point out the accepted payment options, and ask which he will choose should he win. 0 -
People using the internet expect things to be like all the other websites they use. They want things quick and easy....click a few buttons, find the "thing" hit the buy it now, pick your payment option and move on with life. Its not something you can blame the internet buyers for wanting. Internet based sales are just this way. Taking cards isn't as troublesome as it might seem and if you are a regular seller you really should check into getting that done. If you are just selling a few items and don't want to deal with it just be as polite as you can to your buyers about it and explain that they will have to send payment. As far as NR buyers we really don't have any more problems from people that aren't rated as a buyer than we do from a random guy that decides not to pay. On average, the non paying bidders are rare and not something we really worry over much. You can only block a person's user name and if they have already bid on your item it does not block them. 6 -

My list of NR blocked bidders keeps growing. I’ve been on gunbroker since 2015 and to date I’ve only had 1 NR bidder actually pay. After an NR bidder makes a bid, I go and block them from anymore bids. Another thing I do is after an NR bids I check their history. I ALWAYS LEAVE THESE CLOWNS A TERRIBLE FEEDBACK TO WARN FUTURE SELLERS. I’m guessing these are anti 2A people that have nothing better to do with their time than to make fake bids.

Whats going to happen to the small sellers and small time buyers when this payments change to credit cards only ??? I have been asking questions to GB support only to be told that is how it is . I have ask them if they expect a loss of sales but they dont want to talk about it !
