Really nothing I think. I think the "i" versions are just the newer types. Any of the new scopes i see have the "i".

Supposedly better glass in the 3i.  Brighter and clearer images.

Oh, good to know Neo. I can't wait to take a peek through it. These old eyes need all the help they can get. I may just put this on my AR. A year ago I paid $400.00 for a used AO version here on GB. So yeah, I'm pretty stoked at the price.

Didn't Leupold make a change a few years back where they added a new more "econominal" line of scopes and made them their Vari-X I line.

The original Vari-1 became the Vari-X II line and the old Vari-X 2 line became the new Vari-X III?

Regardless, Leupold is my go-to scope and over the years I have purchased at least 2 dozen, mostly used.

    They have a life-time warranty!

Which I have used exactly one time.

    Good buy.

    Good buy.

It's the freedom line. They're good scopes for the $$.

Looking at their past auctions, over last two months they have sold a bunch of them going from $252 to $405.  I have bought a couple of 30mm scopes (1 Burris and 1 Leopold) along with a couple of higher end red dots and a few handguns from them over past couple of years.  Good company to buy from with decent shipping, no cc fees and good prices can be had if one is patient and watch frequently.

Nice score. Here's the same scope for $400 (on back order).
