Paint Removal From A Tennite Stock
Anyone got any suggestion? I have been using rubbing alcohol and 0000 steel wool but it is slow.It appears to have been painted black with a rattle can.

I highly recommend using the orange stripper (Citristrip). Should be safe for the plastic and works well to remove paint. Still takes time.0

I'll second that^ I did some experimenting with a broken Tenite stock that I replaced with wood. Treat it like the paint on a car. 1000grit wet&dry sand paper on a block will take out scuffs and scratches. Auto body polishing compound brings back the sheen, and a buffed out coat of Johnsons paste wax makes it look new. 0 -
Works really really great on wood. Unsure about tenite.

Hoppe's No. 9 took spray paint off my truck tailgate. 0 -
This is what worked for me.I bought a couple of quarts of Awesome cleaner/degreaser at the Dollar General, put the stock and forend in a 5 gallon bucket of warm water with the Awesome cleaner and left it over night.Next morning 90% of the paint had soaked off.I am going to let them soak the rest of the day and they should be good. 0 -
Pics, or it didn't happen!

Don't know how good this would work on Tenite but gun oil and fine steel wool took the big white stenciled police ID numbers off of the stock on a Winchester model 1200 riot pump shotgun that I bought. It did a pretty good job. You can still see some signs that there was something there but not bad. It's a $125 gun so no big deal.
