    I understand your concern re the CPVC." My plumber felt that our new house would "blow up"with 70+ psi. We ran an 1-1/2" main line thru the lower level to a manifold & then pex tubing. But, here's a chart I found. You also have to be concerned with the connections. Of course, you would have to confirm exactly what you have & what happens when it ages. As for the washer, our old Kenmore was still going after 32 years of high pressure.

    Make sure that you get a pressure gauge, and adapt it to a hose bib to check your pressure. You will need to have, IIRC, about 7 psi of differential pressure between the inlet/outlet pressure, or the regulator will hammer since the 2 pressures are too close to each other..

    Heard you Butchdog. Older PVC is very brittle. Have considered changing to Pex, and bringing it up inside the house along a baseboard. Changed out a water heater year before last, rocked it just a fraction to check it was empty/drained. Snapped the 1/2" pipes like nothing.

    Todd, inside pressure will be pre-set at 45psi, incoming line pressure was measured at 76 psi.

    My washing machine will get a feed line, after it runs through the pressure regulator.

    I like learning things, and figuring out things on my own, rather than hiring it out. I'm stupid like that.

    Avoid using a shark bite type fitting if pipe is anywhere they might freeze. The expanding ice will push them off.

    I heard you Butchdog2, about the brittle older pvc. I changed out a water heater year before last. Rocked the old one just a fraction to check it was empty. Snapped both 1/2" pvc lines. 😮

    Todd, incoming is 76psi, inside from pressure regulator will be 45psi. Washer will be hooked up to 45psi.

    I like figuring things out, learning and doing things on my own. I'm stupid like that.

    If you're going to plumb the regulator inside, it might be a good idea to make a tee with a fitting to put a pressure gauge right behind the regulator.....

    As long as you're going to get that far into the weeds on the project you might consider putting in an expansion tank somewhere on the line.  They help to reduce water hammer when an appliance or other valve shuts the water off quickly.

    Hey Ken, Think about running your hose bib(s) from a line prior to the reducer. A lot of info to think about. AL

    Ha Ha.
    Have a friend, he was/is my youngest sons best friend, he is about 7''2" tall, you ought to see the looks we get when he calls me dad and I call him son. Same with a father son team that works at local builder supply, his dad is close to if not 7 feet tall, his son calls him dad, dad this dad that. When I go there I say hello dad, that gets strange looks to.
