How sanitized an area is required for online class? How formal is a child in his own home required to act. I know there has to be limits or just like in regular class a teacher will not be able to do their job. But what are reasonable limits for a child doing classes from his own home? 0 -
An 11 year old had police sent to his home because "a concerned parent" and two teachers saw properly secured BB guns in the background during a virtual class. At least the responding officers kept their brains on a functional setting.

My wife’s a teacher. She did online classes most of the spring, and still some now.
She stated that she muted the kids herself, and turned off their cameras, because otherwise they attention sought by making faces, weird noises, etc. If they had questions, they had a discussion panel thing they’d type into. But it was all one on one with her, so the other kids wouldn’t/couldn’t see it.
You couldn’t pay me enough to do that job.

every parent and kid by now should know the schools position on anything that looks like a firearm or weapon.....so why challenge em or act ignorant...stick it in the closet and go nuts on weekends...when i was in school kids would walk to town and hunt along the way and park the shotguns in the principals office....most pickups had a gun rack and rifle in them ........this ain't the 1950's 3 -
When you are in school you can't be fooling around with anything. You are to pay attention to the teacher. I don't care if it was an air soft, a frisbee, a toy duck, whatever, the kid must learn some discipline. If my kid had done that (well, the youngest is 32) it would have been smashed and thrown in the trash can. My grandkids are going through this right now, so if one of them does something similar...that's their folk's problem. 0 -

We thought schools were getting bad back in the 80s. It was nothing like today.
My wife took our kids out of public school back in the 80s and home schooled them back when it wasn't that common of a thing to do. They had plenty of interaction with other kids that WE were able to control. They competed on teams in all kinds of sports including football, basketball, baseball, and softball, at the local recreation center. I think that was the best thing we ever did for our kids.
Our youngest son graduated high school at 15 years of age and his mom said no way was he going to go on a college campus at that young age. So she enrolled him on line at Texas Tech University. He completed 2 years of college at home back when Texas Tech first started doing that. He took his proctored exams at Troy State University near where we lived in Alabama. I know one thing for sure anyone that can make passing grades in Texas Tech's math courses can handle any challenge the world has to offer.3 -

I know if I could coach the parents on what to do, I would recommend big Jesus Statues, American Flags, Lots of posters of hollywood stars with firearms, lots of posters etc of military battles and maybe even a bull mounting a cow or some similar natural animal sex act, and apple pie. 3 -

The cops had the opportunity to say "We have other more pressing issues to handle/investigate" but they chose to hassle the parents. Not saying the parents weren't partially to blame for allowing the "GUN" to be present knowing the current level of crazy. 0 -
