    I interview alot of people (engineers).

    One of my favorites was about 4 years ago, for a “college new hire” req.

    This kid had a great resume, if I recall correctly he attended Stanford and interned at NASA JPL.

    The recruiter walks him into the room and as he is shaking hands, he casually asks me:

    ”How long is this going to take, my Dad is in the car and we are going out to lunch after this”.


    My response:

    ”Not long”.


    Don’t know where he works but that mindset doesn’t work for me. I wound up hiring a prior Marine, who went to a small school and worked at Home Depot during college.

    The millennials are the future of the workforce; like any generation there is a big difference between those who are truly exceptional and those who think they are.

    I have seen that video before.

    I have a lot of friends who are business owners like me and it not as funny for us business owners as it seems.  I am lucky because I am at the point were I can run my business with just me and my wife.  My friends who have to hire more people are pulling their hair out trying to hire people and deal with all the COVID regulations for businesses at the same time.

    That's funny.   I probably would have answered the same way.

    I had one once that told me he had a job and wasn't really looking. But, how much would we pay him? Nothing, goodbye. Luckily it was an initial (and his only) phone interview.
