It's tough trying to be the better person.......

When you have an a-hole living next to you..... Moved in 12 years ago, the guy, and his family were real friendly, but that wore off pretty quickly. We got a puppy when we moved in, and they left a news paper clipping letter on our front door, couldn't communicate properly about some whining in the am after we left for work. Has some extra cars, that are basically junk, and leaves them parked in the street, can't even move them on trash day. Last year he got po'd because one of the neighbors put their recycle in front of his old truck. He got all bent out of shape, and ran it over, leaving broken glass all over the street. The good neighbor confronted him on it, and the idiot called the cops, and it backfired on him. No one in the neighborhood likes them. All the rest of us drink, bs and bbq together...Last year I replanted half of my yard, and the first night I had 4 piles of cat crap in the fresh dirt/seed. Looked on my camera, and seen that it was their cat. Like an adult. I went over and asked if they could keep their cat inside for a bit until the seed got established. They told me they couldn't, because it was an adopted feral cat, and it didn't like people. Second night, same thing, asked again and got the same response. Finally ended up buying $200 worth of chicken wire to roll out over the new seed so I didn't have to deal with the cat crap. They got a new puppy a week ago. Mowed my grass this morning and there was a fresh pile of dog poop in my yard. Looked on my camera..guess who's dog it was????? Talking with them is useless, and it's all I can do not to throw it onto their new Honda CRV they just bought..... Patience, deep breaths, patience.......

    Plant a row of raspberries between your yard and his.  Put down a plastic "barrier" at least a foot between your yard and the raspberries.  Within a year he'll have raspberry shoots coming up 40 feet from your property line.  Who's to say you're not the nice guy giving him all those free plants and berries?

    You are much more patient than I.  I would have already whooped his arse.

    Pet his animals so I can catch them (trap works also).  Take them to a city several miles away to a pet shelter.  I have "relocated" several animals over the past few years.  Also, find a hobby that really pisses him off and repeat often.  I empty a mag on one of my AR's about twice a week and my neighbor (about two blocks away) will go get his body armour and put it on.  Tickles me.

    Sounds like you need to get yourself a pretty little fence around your place.    It will make you feel better knowing no animals will be messing in your yard.   We put one up because a neighbors dog almost killed our little dog several years ago.   It’s been nice having an area that is defined to take care of too.

    Neighbor's dog came over and killed one of our dogs. I told him to keep his mastiff on his property or I would shoot it. He threatened me! I caught his dog on my property about two weeks later. POW! Took his "$800" dog to the highway, placed it in the Eastbound lane. Made a helluva mess on the road. Dog gone! New neighbor's dog has decided my yard is his poop place. A plan is afoot to solve THAT problem the same way, I'm tired of cleaning poop off my shoes almost every day. You are responsible  for your "pet's" sins.

    You are illustrating why I live in the boonies a long way from my closest neighbor.  I think the fence idea is a winner.  Check local codes, place the fence where it protects your property and keep his critters out of your land.  The feral cat?  SSS.  Feral cats are nothing but critter killers and fast breeders of more feral cats.

    There is a series on tv called "Fear Thy Neighbor."   It is about disputes just like yours.   Cat crapping in the neighbor's yard.
    Guy won't control his cat.  Property owner shoots the cat.  A guy throws cat s*** on his neighbor's car.  Tensions escalate.   At the end of the show, one of the neighbors flips out, and two or three people are shot dead.
    These are true stories.
    So, try to be diplomatic you don't want to wind up on "Fear Thy Neighbor."
    This is one reason I live in the middle of 48 acres.    The closest neighbor that I can see is 2 miles away, across the river.

    Heck, I would even send some of them organizations you mention little money donations using your neighbors name/return address, asking them for donations literature and person visits would be welcomed. :D
