another free loader
I have been working in my pole barn / garage at night when its cool and quiet LOL attempting to organize and make room to actually work ( armature hoarder in progress )
any way tonight I fed some of the cats ( about midnight ) every night procedure and of course the skunks who seem to know food is out if they hear me or the cats or just know its time they also come out to eat
about a hour later I was taking some trash out and heard a noise from my trash can I have been using I knew it was not a skunk thought it may have been a raccoon as I seen a small one a few night ago ( and have to set a live trap for him )
sorry the story is dragging on so it was a very young and small opossum having his way with the empty cat food can (even though there was cat food in a dish two feet away) I picked him up with little fuss or issues and placed in in a pet carrier .
I will haul him off later today to a new area by the river my go to drop off place for the lucky ones all the live trapped get to go
some of the others well there not so lucky ,,

Had a close one this AM. Went to let Buddy out front. Noticed (after I hooked him on his trolley run and released) that there was a young racoon, in his area at the end of his trolley run. Burned my hands grabbing and stopping the cable about 1/3 there. He was intent on getting it.
Had to scold him to get him to not fixate, and come back inside.
Now a young rabbit is sitting out there taunting him. I've saved this young'uns bacon repeatedly. Buddy wants him bad.
