I hope you know that any time you spend petting a purring cat is added to the end of your life.

well I got a late start when younger so I may not get much added
I had no fondness for cats but getting older and the fact my wife loves them  I have gotten to know them a little better I think it was because unlike a dog we do not own a cat there a independent lot and make the decisions ( sorta like a wife )
we have a few that decide there getting petted or attention and that's it  and they pick the time

I'm guessing you don't have a problem with mice.

mice and moles not so much rats are a different story once they get big the cats will not mess with them oh and of course the cats are happy to share there food with the skunks, opossums and raccoons and not uncommon to them eating  together out of the same dish with the cats  ,  now the guest (local democrat freeloaders welfare crowd or the    skunks opossums and raccoons)    will only  dine with the cats not the other  competition

Good grief Ditch-Runner , I think I'm married to your wife's secret sister.  My wife is down to 8 indoor and about 12 outdoor cats.  I'm looking for a smaller home (just for me).

man i can relate ,  I put my foot down when it comes to inside cats , there are none and never will be again  but outside every darn thing that shows up get a home unless they fight with the ones that are here,

we have two cats inside one the blind cat who is about 7 or 8 now and one cat that spent her life out side and getting old she must be ten or twelve . the blind cat from when she was just a few weeks old some infection took her eyes before we got her it was too late to have any thing done sadly  however she  gets around better than I do  going from room to room most would never know she is blind watching her run thru the house or up stairs climb ladders find a box 2 minutes after you put it on the floor like all cats . she is somewhat amazing to watch her if we rearrange something it takes her a little time but has it down in no time
