Moving threads to politics

I posted about a sociological phenomenon called "Us v. Them" and it got moved to politics. I posted about a Right to Keep and Bear Arms topic and it got moved to politics.

I'm sort of curious which moderator thinks everything that's not truly "general" is political?

    I didn't move them, nor pay any attention to them, but I took a quick look...

    Black Lives Matter is a political issue.

    As for the second thread, I see things such as "Public government schools are leftist DEMOCRAT indoctrination centers."

    That certainly sounds political to me.

    Ah, I see. If other people post political comments in response to a non-political topic, that can cause it to be moved.

    The posts were moved based on thread response content not on the original message stage you wrote...

    Not on you - not your harm or foul..


    In the same way it was made clear the meme thread got locked due to others poor behavior not the threads intention as written...

    I never understood why a "general discussion" can't contain any political content or comment, it is after all GENERAL.

    Looks more like a fishing expedition to me, so the Fishing Forum might be more appropriate. I took a long look through the Politics Forum this morning; which has set me up for being in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I didn't see anything in there that wasn't political or politically motivated, and I'm certainly not going to move a thread which a moderator has already moved. 

    I've said before that the forum isn't run by consensus. You can drag out as many dictionaries as you wish, but nothing will change.

    Had I seen your earlier post regarding a Fishing Expedition, Mark, I would not have posted this.  You had it covered.

    Anyone else want to chime in? If I handled this forum member "protest" the same way that the Gun Broker forum members wanted the recent protests handled (you can read about it in the Political Forum), I'd be locking forum accounts and banning members left and right. That won't happen. What will happen is my  continued support of the forum moderators. If anyone imagines that they are going to "Zulu" one of the current moderators, you can get that idea right out of your mind. I won't let it happen.

    To be 100% honest, I've taken many admin clues from Nunn: first you make it clear what you can do. Then you make it plain that you are more than willing to do it. After that comes the lighter touch; except for any who wish to argue the point. Thus far, no one has chosen to go that route. It was a wise decision.
