Mother had a couple strokes....
It's been a tough couple of weeks. Her peralysis has been limited to the right eye, arm, and lip area. Her memory is/ was already affected by dimensia, so we are hoping she can have a recovery to the point where we were pre-stroke, but it doesn't look good so far. This is all compounded by the heart condition my father has. He had another major heart attack trying to drive to the hospital to see Mother. I tried to give support/ride but the stubborn old German would have nothing to do with that. Nearly lost both of them the same day. We are currently in day 7 with new meds with Mother, and fingers crossed. Pops has new instructions if something happens to either of them.
This is crappy stuff to deal with.
Good thoughts and prayers are welcome....

Prayers from here, Gregor.
The only thing that sucks worse than getting older is that we now have to start worrying more and more about our parents getting older.0 -
My mother went through a similar series of strokes back in 2000, Recovery was long and slow, but she eventually recovered to about 75%, which is remarkable. Along with your support, a good doctor is vital. If you don't feel confident with her doctor, don't hesitate to make a change. 0 -

Hang in there buddy...
I will send prayers or if in the interim I pass mention it face to face should the chance present.
Stay strong - rant if needed here and lean on us.

Sorry for your Mother and your father. Our best to them, you and the rest of the family.
My mother had a hemorrhagic stroke last December. I came home and found her on the floor. She did as well as can be hoped for and is now living with my sister in Florida. She is getting along but has never been the same as she was pre-stroke.0 -

Thanks for the kind words and prayers, it means a lot right now! Hopefully she doesn't have a major stroke, we've seen too many lose their quality of life to them.
