Jim, I thought you would be slimmer than that.

Good luck with your foot issue.

You check for splinters and such?  Bag balm and put the sock back on.  Good luck.

give a real close look between the toes  for evidence of a hole made by FOXTAIL seeds.  common problem with dogs in late summer

That sock would stay on one of my Border Collies at most 10 seconds.  How are keeping the sock on your dog??

Years ago I had a Bullmastiff that would lick his feet until they bled.  The doc said it was a reaction to allergies patched him up and bandaged his front feet.  That helped but they needed to air dry to promote new pads to form.  He would then just start licking again.  After a couple of hundred $ at the doc I bought a dozen white boys socks and a pair of suspenders.  That worked like a charm.  Sure they got dirty after a few trips outside (he was an indoor dog) so I would just toss the dirty ones and put on a fresh pair.  He didn't seem to mind a bit.
But as others have said, check for wounds first.

Our English bulldog licks her feet too and we had to get her shots once a month for allergies. Stopped the licking .
