You sound like you been imbibing the same elixir. That the late Elmer Keith, was so fond of. 3 -
I wish I could have met the old man. I have several of his books and he made a lot of sense to me. It ain't bragging if you can do it. 0 -
Well now, the 6MM Dasher will kick its butt all day every day. The 6MM BR will match it and burn 10 grains less powder doing it too! 0 -
I really liked old Elmer. Read a lot of his books and magazine articles, when I was younger. Even saw him one time. When the NRA, had there annual convention in San Diego. Back when I was still living, in Commie Calli.Ricci.Wright said:I wish I could have met the old man. I have several of his books and he made a lot of sense to me. It ain't bragging if you can do it.
The yarn he spun, about shooting the Elk. With a .44 magnum off hand at 600 yds. Was the one, I always had doubts abut. But he was a fantastic game shooter. If anybody could have done it, it would have been him.0 -
I think it was a deer at 600 from the creedmore position but I haven’t read that story in a long time so you might be right. 0 -
If you glue on tail fins and drop it from a height of 1000 yds it would kill - but erecting it in a mortar tripod for indirect fire and lobbing it in at 1000 yds after filling the case with experimental liquid propellant like the SPG Paladin uses - combined with rear of the case tube delivered ignition and ackely improved case alterations and a 30" long .925" diameter heavy barrel don't get you to 1000 yds...
But they are very nice guns for the wife or girlfriend or effeminate petite male neighbors who are non binary or poly...

Really like the heavy barrel Mauser with the laminated stock. Very nice. That should do well.
I own a 8mm Mauser made in Berlin in 1915. Gehwer 98, Arsenal reconfigured to a KAR 98 in 43.

That is a nice Sendero. I have found them to be accurate guns. I never shot one in 243 but the 223, 308 and 300 mag's I have shot were all accurate. I have a 223 and a 308 and my only beef with them is the 223 has a slow twist barrel, I wish it was 1-9 but I believe its a 1-12. It shoot 55gr bullets fine though. The 308 has a long chamber so it responds to handloads with bullets seated out much better than factory loads. The 26" tube really gets all the velocity out of the load, much better than a 20 or 22" barrel.Ricci I dig the TSW too. Those are very well made guns.
