Found out my younger Sister got 10 of her Female friends together, and the all got their CCW's. She got them all together and they made multiple trips to an indoor range to get comfortable. Walked them through the CCW procedure, and all went to the class and shooting qualifications together.
I have heard She now has a blog to encourage Females to do the same and be prepared to defend yourself. She has observed my Brother and I and her Husband [a Sandbox Vet.] (Major) with our proficiency and willingness to carry.

I hope they never are in a situation that warrants the use of their carry piece but it is better to have and not need is a good philosophy. Pass along a "well done" from me. Bob 6 -

Years ago I put a target on the other side of the creek out back. Then I handed my Colt 1903 .32 ACP to my daughter and told her to try to hit the target. She fired one shot and the bullet hit dead center in the middle. She handed the pistol back to me and that was it. I asked her several years later if she took up target shooting yet. She told me that was the only time she ever touched a gun and had no interest in doing it again.I congratulate your sister and her friends.Joe

Last several times my Brother and his Wife have visited from NM, I have gone over (with my Sister there,) to hand my Brother a Carry handgun while here, so he does not have to mess with flying with one. She has also observed my discreet carry at family gatherings and restaurants for years now. Usually a S&W 642 Airweight in .38 Special in an OWB Kydex holster under my suit jacket. (Or similar.)
Several male Cousins also carry. Last several Thanksgivings we have all been outside on the back porch/deck comparing Carry Pieces. 😁
Our Family is from good Strong Farmer/Frontier Stock, and refuse to be Sheep. Pretty much Every Single Male Member as far back as we can trace, has Served time in the Military. (Back to the Revolution.)

My wife, our daughter and her husband went to the concealed carry class together. The girls both shot a 46. Son-in law shot a 48. I told my son-in-law it was a good thing he out shot the girls even if barely because he would have never have heard the end of it if he hadn't!!
They are still waiting on their permits.0 -
Thanks Joe/Bubba. (Same with my Sister.) While we all grew up shooting. (Military Family, and Country Folk.) My Sister never really showed much interest in Firearms or even spoke of them until just recently.
Decided to jump in with both feet. People are waking up to the fact that Protecting yourself, is on You. Welcome to the fray.

Trying to communicate with her now to offer Congratulations, and find out what She is carrying. May even offer her a handgun if She does not currently have one. Her SIL, my Nieces Husband is a Firearm Nut, like me. He is going to get quite a few from me. He probably has her covered. As does my BIL, her Husband. (A really good Guy.)
I have (a'hem) a few handguns to choose from. Multiples of several. Another one in to the fold.
Just got off the phone with her. She is coming up tomorrow to look at the Master bath renovation Butchdog2 and his Crew are doing at my Moms house. We had a pretty lengthy conversation about handguns. I have offered her a choice of two, whatever she like better. I am strongly encouraging her to go with a small nickle plated .38 spcl. Revolver I have with a hidden hammer. (The one I carried before I got my S&W Airweight from Ricci a few years ago.) If she has time, we are going to come back to my house and let her shoot a bunch of handguns. Primarily the two I am offering up for her.
Told Her how proud I was of her.

I'm glad they went to a range & practiced. A friend took his CCW course on line thru a LGS. He never had to even touch a gun. He said that the boater safety course we took was more difficult. I had him over for some actual range practice. He is safety conscious but he'll need more experience. 0 -
She was way shocked I was offering her a handgun for free. Whatever she is most comfortable with. We discussed revolvers and Auto's, and why a Revolver would be best for her. I told her I had carried Auto's for years, and had gone back to a revolver and why. The one I am recommended and offering up to her, is what I was carrying prior to purchasing my S&W 642 Airweight. Her's free if She wants it, is comfortable with it.
She has been told by her Instructor how overpriced handguns and ammunition are right now, and why. Her Instructor suggested I purchase her ammo here in TN. i told her, "I don't need to purchase any, I've got you covered."

She couldn't stop laughing when I told her I had a Bra Holster to go with the gun. A "Flash/Bang. I described it and sent her a pic. She didn't even know they existed. 😅

Nice.....I got my 14 y.o. shooting a couple years ago. Now that she is 16, she still likes my collection, but has more important things going on........lol 0
