Does anybody know anything about the quality of Marlin rifles since Remington took over? Thanks

They have been hit & miss(like everything Remington got their hooks into).

Marlin rifles covers a lot of ground. .22lr, lever center fire, bolt center fire. What kind are you thinking about? 0 -
The Rem MARs dont measure up as far as quality. Rem "Relieved" all the Marlin craftsmen when they assume control in 2007.
Crappy wood to metal fit, loose mag tubes, crappy triggers, and poor finish begin problems observed. Function problems as well.
Have heard complaints about warranties but not substantiated personally.
There have been some improvements as of late but the stigma of poor quality is still there. IMHO, I would search for one made before 2007.

Hit and miss is right on and customer service has sucked. If I was gonna buy one I would want to get my hands on it before I bought it. No way would I order one. 3 -

Given a choice between an older, used Marlin and a new, "modern" Marlin...I would pay more for the old Marlin. And I have!
Same for Remington.Same for Winchester.Ruger and Savage? - buy a new one.1952 Marlin

JM (John Marlin) stamped Marlins (pre Remington) seem to always demand a premium on the auction side. 0 -
