help me remember who it was.....
A few years back, was there a member here, who had a daughter/granddaughter who was trying out for the US(?) shooting team? I remember sending a few bricks of Federal gold medal 22 ammo to her. She sent back a nice thank you card. Anyone remember this, and if so, how far did she get, is she still doing it??

This is the discussion I was thinking about, Joe.
Added: But then I seem to recall another young lady that was on a shooting team... maybe at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, I think. Memory is too foggy right now, though.

toad67,I think this is the topic you are looking for:GB member 'Country Guns' was bidding on a rifle for the young lady to compete with. Lots more details in the post.

Yeah, I remember that thread! Many members steeping up to help a junior shooter in need.
A recent update would be pretty cool, is anyone still in touch with Country Guns or know how the story has gone since the then?0 -
If you go to the top of the thread, and look at the third post, it mentions that they don't need ammo, so that must not be the one. From what I can remember, it was a younger girl, 10-13 or so, that was practicing for a team, not sure what level. I remember sending her two or three bricks of Federal Gold Medal 22 ammo. She then sent me a hand written thank you card. It has been awhile back though. Thanks for trying though fella's...... 0 -
I laughed reading BDJ's thread. He sure got a hard time from the resident smartazzes back then.
He mentioned he would match the donations...wonder how much that cost him? One guy said a $300 check was on the way.0
