That 327 Fed Mag cartridge, came and went pretty quick. All the gun rags, and U-Tube shills. Puffed it up big time, when it first hit the street. I wonder if any of the manufactures, are still producing guns for it?
High velocity, around 1400 FPS, as I recall. Noise and muzzle flash, probably would make your eyes water. From a short barreled revolver. Shooting it inside for personal protection, you wouldn't even have to hit the perp. Between the flame from the barrel, and the muzzle blast. He probably keel over, with a heart attack.0 -

Don't think the .32 acp or .32 NAA will work.
But the .32-20 wcf and the "HV" head stamped high velocity rifle only variant should...
I don't imagine you will find much in the high performance self defense ammo like the stuff pictured above - only some real ammo crazy prepper lunatic would have some...

I like the 327. I have one in a Single Six and one in a Blackhawk convertible. Shooting either with the 32 S+W or 32 S+W long is a great way to start a kid.
Rufe-snow summed it up perfectly. Light off a 327 in a dark room and it doesn't matter if you hit or miss the intruder, the problem is taken care of.0 -
Got to thinking, ( always dangerous). Since my last post. The revolver manufacturers screwed the pooch. In not making a optional 30 Mauser, (7.62 X 25 ), cylinder available for their .327 Fed. revolvers.
The 30 Mauser is a hot round. With all the surplus East Bloc Tokarev's and CZ 52's floating around, the ammo is out there. it would have been a neat option for the revolvers chambered in .327 Fed. I know I would have been more interested, in a revolver able to shoot 7.62 X 25. Than just .327 Fed.0 -
I have a Ruger sp101 with 3" barrel. I got it to teach women and children and you're right, it's really good for that. I like it myself, it's a good shooting gun. IMHO, what I believe the main problem as to what the 327 was never popular was because of a lack of selection of jacketed bullets. Can almost say the same with the 32 H&R. Why are their no jacketed bullets around 125 gr?
There are few selections of the lesser weight bullets as well.
Cat bullets are no problem as far as availability but when pushed to magnum FPS, my experience has been barrel leading even with GCs and hard cast due to the small bore.3 -
I have a Ruger LCR in .327.....Not really any more of a blast than a hot .357 from a short barreled revolver....i also have taught a couple folks to shoot using .32 S&W Longs.... 3 -

Bottleneck rounds don't work well in Revolvers.0 -
I recommended a CZ-52 to my Brother as his first sidearm. Yes the 7.62X25 is a hot round. Now that he has a few sidearms, can you believe the selfish Bassturd will not sell it to me?

I have wanted a blackhawk in 7.62x25 for years. A machinist suggested .30 carbine revolver with a 44 or 45 caliber cylinder sleeved to accept the round. Problem is I'm pretty sure those cylinders don't interchange. 0 -
I wonder if 7.62×38mmR could be one of the many interchangeable cartridges accepted in this revolver...
Certainly the nagant gas seal revolver round sets nobody's hair on fire performance wise - and you would not have the benefit of the cylinder moving and allowing you to seal the chamber to the barrel...
But you know me if it could be done and is oddly counter-intuitive I would be there and do that and print the T-shirt...
I do have the .32 acp cylinder for my Russian revolver...
The 7.62×38mmR does actually make for a pleasant target match round and has little recoil and makes little noise - of course the .32-20 wcf has long been a favored secret sauce range day target shooters oddly accurate cartridge...
And I have always found the caveat of the 7.62×38mmR nagant wheelgun being the only revolver that can accept and function correctly with a can attached to the end of the barrel a neat mostly useless factoid...
I have a case of 7.62×38mmR 70's target grade sport club ammo set aside - which I don't shoot much through the revolver - but I do have a Belgian baby rolling block carbine chambered for the 7.62×38mmR that is a sweet little toy and a hoot to shoot at 100 yes - it prints pretty tight groups with the Russian sport club ammo...
Not that I have ever found one or seen one but they did make a revolving carbine that accepted this ammo - might be a fun gun.
And Ken I resent the implications - the slings and arrows...
Just because I have semi jacketed hollow points and copper coated double end target wadcutters and FMJ round nose custom loads on virgin brass for the .32 S&W short in no way makes me strange or on the spectrum - it's perfectly normal and acceptable behavior...
