Earthquake -
Just had a 5.1 centered in Sparta NC. About 40 miles away. (Apprx. 8:20 am) House started moving, everything hanging (lanterns etc.) Swaying. Lasted about 45 seconds.
Went outside, power lines swaying, ripples in the pond.
Thought someone was jumping around on my back deck, actually went to the door expecting to see 3-4 people coming up to the door.

Felt in Jonesborough, my wife had just got out of the shower. I told her either she was moving the floor or there was just an earthquake. Luckily for me it was an earthquake

I jacked up one of my cars yesterday and put it on blocks. Pulled the wheels and checked the brakes. Yep, needs new pads.So I left it on blocks until I could get to the parts store today.My wife asked if it was safe to leave the car like that? She was worried about her dog, not about me.I told her it was solid and it would take an earthquake to knock it off the blocks.5.1 quake woke me up this morning.
