Why do they do that?

Why are keyboards made with the CAP LOCK KEY so close to the shift key?? I can't count the times I've hit that dang thing and have to start a sentence over.

    A really honest answer?

    You are probably looking at the keyboard and not the screen.  You don't see what you have been typing until you look away from the keyboard and at the screen.

    NOTE:  The previous sentence does not apply, if you are looking at hand-written notes or lists or something else instead of the keyboard or the screen.

    You are probably looking at the keyboard and not the screen. 
    Nope. Learned how to type in the 10th grade 55 years ago. Typing teacher would give you a good whack on the hands with his ruler if he caught you looking at the keys.

    I agree! The worst time is when typing a password which is case sensitive for some stupid reason.

    Talking about a keyboard for a desk top. I have popped that key off of every keyboard I have had, when I buy a new computer. If I ever transition to a laptop I may be in trouble. Can you pop those keys off?
