20 Gauge buckshot?
I am trying to get some ammo for my brother. Can't find this on GB. They do make 20 gauge buckshot, don't they?

Most common seem to be #3 or #4. The bigger pellets don't stack well in a 20 gauge case. S&B used to make a #2 load but I haven't seen any in a while. Bob 0 -

Luckily I have plenty of 20 gauge buckshot as I bought most of what I have over the last 4 or 5 years. I did score 3 boxes (of 5) several months ago but buckshot is even more scarce than 5.56, at least around here. 0 -
When I was a 15 yr old kid, I hunted deer with a 20ga and buckshot. Thankfully, my Dad advised me to load the first round as a slug. The 20ga buckshot just bounced off the deer. 0 -
It's not buckshot, but this stuff is interesting. I'm going to test it out on paper, this week sometime.

That stuff looks interesting. The payload is twice the weight of the old standby 5/8 ounce foster style slug. Slower than most slugs but if it keeps the two balls somewhere near each other I bet it is devastating. Let us know how your test goes, I might be interested in some of those myself. I shoot that in 12ga. with two bigger balls that travel together nicely. By 30 yards they tear a hole 5" by 2" through a target. Devastating rounds.That stuff looks interesting. As above - they make it. I have some, have not looked for any in awhile. I'm loaded up on 12ga HD rounds. So I did not feel the need to stock up heavily on 20ga. I've got maybe 4 boxes of buck and slugs for 20ga and a few heavy game load boxes.

For use inside a house, it doesn't make much diff what shot size is used unless the target is wearing 4 layers of heavy clothing. If that's a possibility, aim for the face or knee. 0 -
That is very interesting sig220. Two .58 round balls with a muzzle velocity of 1,200 fps.
And at 25 yards they are hitting a few inches apart.
I have killed lots of hogs and deer with a patched round ball. I have three muzzleloaders that I have hunted with.
This is a .490 round ball with a mv of about 1,200 fps and it is just devastating on big game.
A single .58 round ball would have much more energy than the .490
The foot pounds of energy of two of those would be something else. At that close range you could take on the biggest game in North America such as a moose, with a lung shot he wouldn't get far.
