    A ship in a bottle is a piece of cake compared to building this.  Most of those pieces were put in very few at a time over a long period.  You ask some very good questions above.  There are no tools to buy to do this as it is improvise daily, especially for certain pieces.  I built the cabin on the outside and slowly transferred to the inside.  You mention glue and that is and issue as you have to clean ASAP if it gets the wrong place.  I used two small stiff wires bent on the end and placed each piece at a time as most were not bad, but some I about lost my religion on.  You bend the wires and test before placing some pieces.
