    Something else that's impressive is the roof tops of the surrounding buildings. They're clean with no junk piled up like I've seen on buildings today.

    Good God!   And in the same year, you can see photos of the guys building the Empire State Building.  800 feet up walking the high iron, no safety belt.   Good God.

    The one time I really pushed an OSHA violation in the workplace, Sandblasting out in the open (which is supposed to be done in a closed booth with everyone wearing PPE.) all the rest of us having to be in close proximity in order to get our job done in the time allowed. Everyone getting sick, respiratory infections etc. After repeated complaints to "Safety," over many months, I started getting more aggresive and vocal.

    The two head foremen "moved me," to the most difficult physically demanding job in the plant. Then had Supervisors riding me all day long, every day. (Trying to get me to quit.)

    After 2 weeks of that BS, went to the two head HR people to complain that i was being penalized for making a OSHA violation complaint, and being encouraged to quit. Against written policy.

    I believe they saw a lawsuit looming, and the two Head Foremen came back asking if they could "please," speak with me. I was put back in my previous job, that the two Foremen had assured me would never happen. Had a target on my back from that day forward.

    AH's. Eventually they got me. After a few more years. I am glad to be out of there. I

    Cowboy after OSHA inspection:
    No backup alarm?
    I  done repairs to communication radio towers when safety belts were not a requirement. (but I used my own)
    If I fell, it was my own fault and the company had a job opening. If you did not like your assigned job, you had the option to quit and they told you such. (It was not a white lives matter sort of job thingy)

    Here is a strange fact for you- that communications tower?  Not covered by OSHA. Falls under regulations of the Federal Communications Commission once it is built and operating.  My company used to provide certified welding inspectors for work on those.  If the tower- or any other tower in that immediate area was operating, our staff wore an RF energy detector.  If there was enough energy there was a cowled robe made of fine stainless mesh to keep you from getting RF burns.  We also used a cable grab system while climbing.
