Tesla towing 5000lb camper
SMH. If only the DOT would enforce the laws on private vehicles the way
they do on commercial ones. Love the comments that the car can tow 5k so
its all good.

6 charging stops in 600 miles seems like a large pain in the ass. Stated it took them appx 3 hours to go the first 120+ miles and had 12% charge left. Did it take 3 hours to recharge? Does that mean one can plan on averaging 20 MPH for a road trip?
Battery vehicles currently and will always have a place. There needs to be a major breakthrough in battery power density before road trips are practical.0 -
Don't know about long trips towing such a load, but I was amazed a while back to see a Tesla pull a quite large wake/ski boat out of a local reservoir. Kinda spooky to see that rig climb a long and steep ramp in complete silence and apparently without straining anything. 0 -

I could 'pull' a 5000 lb. trailer with a moped. Getting it stopped, however, is another story! 0 -

Yeah- what he said. A number of years ago, concrete companies rented "concrete buggies", basically an open topped tank on wheels with a big spout at the bottom rear. Idea was Joe Homeowner could rent one to haul a yard of concrete home to pour a sidewalk. (a) they had no brakes. (b) a yard of concrete weighs 3700 lbs, plus weight of the buggy. Joe Homeowner would hook one to his station wagon, head home. First traffic light he would brake and sail right thru the light, since his gross weight had just doubled.0 -
You need The Tesla truck for this,color would match too! Of course towing with present battery technology is time-consuming. I guess if you are unemployed and bored.It's something to do before you let the bank have it all back on a repo.
