WONDERFUL trip to Panama City with my Aunt.....ohhh, yes, a bit of drama for your entertainment!

OK....so, the plan was to meet up with her son who had been staying with his friend for the first part of the week and finish out the last three days with us.    We drove down, checked into our rooms and headed to get a bite to eat.      Somewhere along the way on day two her son asked "what kind of motor does this thing have".....not something I'm going to know anything about, so he said to pop the hood.    He's 16....so I tell him its not like you can see the motor on newer cars because they cover everything in plastic.    He still wants to look.

OMG......look what we saw when we popped the hood!!!!!     My Camaro is in the shop because of a squirrel building a nest in it and messing up my brake lights.    Well.....I've never EVER had them come for my other cars.    Squirrel heaven is about to get a bunch of new members.     I just got this thing......no cool at all!!!    It actually took my son in law looking at the picture to tell me it was being eaten by something.    I thought were were melting things, something had exploded and it was getting ready to break down.

    Twenty five bucks.  I have 3 of them.  It works, believe me.
    You only need to place one of them under the hood.

    I had two of those in the Camaro.....one in the back seat floor, and the other in the trunk......and they STILL took some of the fluff from under my seat and built a nest in the trunk.    Every time you got near it I heard the buzzing and saw the lights flashing on the one I could see when looking in the window, so I thought they were doing their job.    I realized they weren't when I found the nest and my wires had been chewed on.    I never imagined they would be in my new car too.....so I didn't check.     I'm about to go nuts with some deterrents of all kinds around here.

    I've had rats twice eating on the wires on our cars. Problem went away after dog died. I was not only feeding the dog but also the rats. I found dog food stored in the air filter of my wife's car.

    last year while test driving new cars with my daughter , she took a new Ford Escape out for a drive and the head lights won't work ,  when the dealer ship checked it out they found the wires going to the headlights  had all been chewed into,
    they told us that the problem started showing up after soy bean oil was being used in the manufacturing of the wire insulation and other plastic parts , maybe true maybe not  but they sure like some thing

    This type of behavior is caused by a severe lead deficiency.

    I am astonished that the electric rat repellers don't work for you.  I have 17 of them.  I have run rats out of the basement, I have 5 of the plug in models in the basement.  I have run them out of the crawl space.  I have run rats out of the tool shed, and the carport.   And I have one of those in the engine compartment of my car, and I have run them off of my car.  They had chewed half the insulation off of the bottom of the hood, and had made a nest in the blower fan for the heat/ac.  Cost me $125 to have that nest removed.  I have that battery powered model under the hood, and I have a plug in model on the floor board, passenger's side.  I just remove it from the car and set it on the shelf when I go for a drive.  Put those two in there 3 months ago, and the rats are gone!

    On my log cabin  there is a 3 inch overhang on every dovetail notch.  For years I have had squirrels climbing up there and gnawing on the notches.  Now this is a serious problem.  More than a half dozen squirrels got it with the shotgun.
    Two months ago I installed two of the plug in rat repellers on the covered porches.  Bye Bye squirrels!   Thank God.

    I have $500 in electric rat repellers, purchased off of amazon over a 2 year period, it is the best money I ever spent.

    So, if these things don't work for you car I am astonished.   Maybe you have nuclear powered rats over there in the north Birmingham area.

    The insulation (made in China), for the last 20years or so has a soybean ingredient.  Appears the US squirrels & mice love it.

    The sonic ones work for me on mice.  I have a dozen installed.  Spray repellent with peppermint base might work on mice a bit,  but it attracts bears,  tore out all the windows on my deer shanty.

    They were working for a little while it seemed.    I don't know what changed???    I think the problem might be a scent thing.   Its just my guess.    I think the fact that they had been in the car left a smell that makes them think this is "their" spot.    I'm going to have it deep cleaned and soak it in some kind of mint......I hear they cannot stand mint.    I'm putting more of the buzzer things around because I do believe they were working against some things.....just not this particular "brave" squirrel.

    bird feeder and shotgun, feed em to the dogs.........

    doubt the insurance will cover that, and I bet toyota is real proud of those covers expensive lesson hope you get em........ sounds like you might have ran em out of the camaro into the toyota

    I just went to Tractor supply and bought some cab fresh and peppermint oil at Walgreens to try to prevent that crap thanks for sharing !

    Never tried those things but sounds like they are designed to chase critters from one place to another so you have buy more devices. Kill the varmints and be done with them.
