Telescopic Sight Type 1985
I'm slowly moving the remaining lifetime accumulation of eclectic items from Pine Bluff to my farm. Came across this little gem.
Two things: a. I have no use for it, 2. If I were to sell it I haven't a clue to its worth.
Any experts?

Looks like a Romanian SVD optic to my eye...
Think dragunov sniper rifle mount or an AK variant that accepts side of the receiver set up to mount the optic and base...

Yep, that is all I found on it as well, so I don't have a clue. If I were to list it, I would want a starting off spot. Just throwing it to the wind to see what sticks doesn't sit well with me since I know so little about it. 3 -
$100-125 would be a high retail bid starting point - the Romanian sniper rifle with this optic set up can still be obtained for as low as $700-800...
Personally I would do a penny start or maybe have a $75.00 minimum bid and see what happens - just my opinion.

At $100 to $125 I will just hang on to it. Young 'uns will just have to fight over it. Lol. 3 -
As long as nobody installed the battery and let it go bad and corrode they are pretty robust decent optics - and you do have the transit case and all accessories and ephemera...
You can but the rail and attach it to other rifles and allow use of the scope - I did so on an 1886/93 lebel rifle project gun - but it's not an entry level starter task it's a bit involved.

One son in law is a mechanical engineer. If he can't do it, it can't be done. Nothing has been touched in the case. Susie, It's a Chinese (factory 833) Type 1985-JJJ (scope wording in English), 4x24, and calibrated for the NDM-86 Dragunov in 7.62x51 NATO, for export. It has a infra-red detector built in too. The serial number on the front of the Off/On switch would match the one on the matching rifle's buttstock. It won't be the same serial number as the rifle's receiver. The wood box should have a spare set of batteries and bulbs for the illuminated reticle.
I don't know what the current prices are, but it's a helluva lot more than $125!Mike, I haven't seen a Romanian PSL-54C sell for anything less that $2K in the last 4-5 years.

Susie, your common sense is sound and intact as TRAP looks to have confirmed. I know nothing of the type rifle or the sniper scope package you have, but it screams to the ignorant like me that it ought to be worth more than $125.00. Hopefully, it is. Good luck. 0 -
I'll bet it would go $200-$300 I see them from time to time in different venues and they don't seem to last long. I sold one that did not have all the goodies that come with it like you do and I got $250 for it 0 -

Sorry I get stuck in dealer price mode sometimes - you can and a Romanian M76 Zastava SVD sniper rifle in .30-06 or 8X57 Mauser for $799-$899 dealer cost from AWO out of Ohio...
But you ate absolutely right that the retail and auction prices are much higher. The scope would be worth double if a Soviet pre Berlin wall collapse model - I will let you know if I locate one for sale.
