I just got done spraying a sprayer full of Round Up and now it’s raining.

Even so......if the rain washed it off......it should soak into the roots of whatever you sprayed it on. Maybe not a total loss. 0 -
Roundup is supposed to be rain proof once dry. It works by being taken up through the leaves not roots. It is best sprayed when plants are actively growing, i.e. sunny day. I have had it not work as well when it rains an hour or two after application, but usually it still does some good. It is a systemic herbicide as once the leaves soak it in it blocks photosynthesis and kills the whole plant and roots.TN seems to have several varieties of weeds that are round up resistant. Trimec 2-4D seems to work better on them, but it doesn't harm grass.

Yeah, tell me about it Jim. That pouring/soaking rain kinda snuck in here on me also. All my super dry wood that got delivered yesterday is out there soaked.
How long was the roundup on the plants before the rain started? (I used to have a TN Chemical applicators license.) We used Ranger Pro. (Glyphosat) A pro grade Round up, if you will. (2oz/gal.) Maybe see if your farm store carries it next time.
I need to do some spraying around my property as well. (Still have some Ranger Pro.)
Cling2myguns is correct. Glyphosat is designed to absorbed through the leaves. Hot sunny days when the plant is most active is the best.

Part of my parking area is gravel and the crabgrass comes thick about this time of year. Also, I spray the margins of our shared driveway to keep the grass back. If it washed off, I’m only out a quart and a half of Roundup and a little time.
