Have you ever "pulled out" your concealed weapon in a real life scenario?

Dog came after me, one time. When I was hiking out in the desert. Idiot who owned it, was parked in a RV, probably 50 feet off the trail. He must of seen the Glock, because he came out of the RV pronto. Calling his dog, and saying sorry. I stuck the Glock back in my pocket, and continued on my hike.

Knew of a guy who was almost sideswipe and had a suspect cut him off and jump out the car wanting to beat the guy up and I ask him what did you do? He/she said they showed the suspect the weapon while still in his/her vehicle without pointing it at him. The guy laugh and said he didn't care but never went to the door to extract the poor person out of the car but tried to break a window with his fist as he/she drove off. Boy,I told him your lucky for the police would have gotten you for brandishing a weapon without cause.
I would never have had been that stupid and told him he/she just should have let the guy grab open the door and shoot him instead with no warning which would have been completely legal. B) Car jacking is a felony.

Yes, a 38 hunk of junk derringer in 1980 or 81, Near the Henry Horton projects in Chicago, at night while installing an X-ray machine.  It still sends chills down my spine 40 years later thinking I may have had to shoot 2 of them and there was five aggressors....At that time it was a BIG no-no to have a gun concealed in Chicago.  It is even worse now of course but it saved me.  No shots were fired.

No, but close. I was in a convenience store getting a cold drink when an irate idiot started threatening the young female clerk. He was so intent on her, he didn't pay me any mind. I positioned myself to have a clear shot if I needed it, but never pulled the pistol out. The manager came out of the back of the store and the situation calmed down. I went to pay for my drink and told the manager I was sure glad he got there before I had to protect the clerk, who was crying and shaking. He asked if I was armed, I just smiled and nodded. The clerk thanked me as I left.

1970, Santa Paula, Ca.  Two guys in a big station wagon kept tapping my rear bumper.  When they saw me reach over the seat and get my small suit case, they backed off and left.  I did have a loaded Ruger .22 mag. in the suitcase.

First time was not a CCW. A guy found out I was donking his "girlfriend" and intentionally bumped my car damaging the rear bumper and fenders. I stopped and the guy comes stomping up to my window.  It was deer season and my old Remington 760 was in the back seat. By the time he reached the window, the 30/06 was pointed at his face.
A few other times through the decades with the last two years back in St Louis. Coming out of restaurant with one of my female employees and was confronted by a couple of guys who demanded money. When the laser showed up on one guy, the other ran away like a little girl who had just seen a spider and the targeted dude just raised his hands and backed slowly across the parking area to his car.
I'm an old man. Old guys don't run or fight, they just make noise.

I’ve put my hand on it once.

Came across thee homeless guys one 4 degree morning, and two of them were trying to steal the winter jacket off the third who was passed out. Had the wife call the police while I got out of the car to stop them.

Had a polite conversation for a couple of minutes until a police car arrived. Never truly felt threatened. One of them got up and suggested I mind my own business, but never got closer than 30 feet.

Only two shots against five guys.   Doesn't sound too good.
I often think of this scenario, as I sometimes carry a Hi Standard derringer in .22 mag.
As the five guys approach you, just wait until the closest guy is 5 feet away.   Can't miss at that range.  Shoot him right in the chest.  He is probably going to die.  Imagine the muzzle flash, and the noise from a .38 derringer at night!
We have a story on this thread about some guys seeing a lazer on their chest and got a real quick attitude adjustment.
Imagine the attitude adjustment with the leader of their gang squealing his death agony on the ground.  And, they don't know you have a 2-shooter.   And they don't want to find out, I bet you, at that point, you would see four new world's records in the 220 high hurdles.     Bet you wouldn't even have to fire the second shot.
As for Chicago rules about pistols, go on to your car and drive away and keep your mouth shut.

Never pulled it, but about 4 years ago was at a gas station in my Jeep. I had to pay inside. The Bikers who were all around my Jeep when I came out, wanted to hassle me, about where the F' you been? Etc. Etc.

Got nose to nose with the most aggressive, who had me blocked from getting out. (Behind my Jeep.) Told him quietly just so he and I could hear "just because you ride a bike, doesn't make you a bad A $ $. I ride too. Get your bike out of my way." When I turned and got in my Jeep, I removed my Nickle plated snubbie revolver from my back pocket, as I got in. I am sure he saw it. Which was my intent.

Nothing further happened, except he got his bike out of my way so I could leave.

Owles - I have read most of, if not all of your recent posts. It never even sounds like you are responding to the correct thread. (?)

I (and I believe others as well,) have No Idea, what you are talking about.

You are one interesting Dude though. You are not related to Worls Klass, are you? 😂

Read his post to my "have you had to use your Homeowners Insurance Policy," thread. More of the same. I read that, and was like WTH? 🤔

Every post I have read from this guy, leaves me scratching my head in confusion.

Yes, Ken, I was going to ask him to give his estimated blood alcohol at time of posting.     .08 is too drunk to drive.  I think this is about a .16

"Astronaut food likely talkies the cause. " 😆

Not even close to his most confusing post. This guy is on a roll.

"Some Dude from my past is no, no, no!" (Sorry proper punctuation is on me.)

I was at a stop sign, when this yahoo in a Caddy decided too late to make the turn onto the street I was on, and he very nearly hit my truck.  My window was down, and I yelled an expletive, to which the other driver took exception.  He got out of his car with a jack handle in hand.  I got my Smith & Wesson .38 Bodyguard in my hand.  As he got close, he could see the .38 and stopped.  He said,  "They made more than one gun."  I said,  "I only see one here."  He got back in his car and drove away.

I was doing a part-time job, collecting cable boxes for the cable company.  As I drove down the street in a sketchy area of town, this hoodrat, a known drug dealer, stepped out into the street, blocking my path.  I lowered my window and had Bodyguard in hand, below the bottom edge of the window.  Hoodrat saw it, and recognized me as a police officer, and said,  "I thought you was someone else."

I was in Dallas, and I actually stopped for a yellow traffic light.  The yahoo behind me thought I shouldn't have stopped, and he began screaming profanities at me.  I could tell he was large, and obviously angry, so I got my Bodyguard in hand and waited.  Fortunately for him, he remained in his truck and yelled, and did not approach.

I was walking my yellow lab, Sam, in Wolfe City, off leash.  He never needed a leash.  A pit bull got off his porch and came into the street, running at us and growling.  I had a Colt Pony on me, so I pulled it and pointed it at the approaching dog.  I guess he had seen a pistol before, because when he saw it, he broke off the attack and went back to his porch.

I was walking my two dogs just outside Wolfe City, on leash.  This yahoo drove past us, stopped his truck, and jumped out with a Ruger 10-22 in hand.  I didn't draw, but I did grip my holstered .45 auto.  I asked the yahoo what were his intentions.  He said he was looking for two dogs that were annoying his cows.  I told him that these are not the dogs he was seeking.  He got back in his truck and went on.

The question was about pulling from concealed, so I confined myself to that sort of scenario.  There were many more times I pulled a gun on someone, but usually I was in uniform and the gun was carried openly.

Made a mistake of withdrawing $200 at an ATM while at a mall. Became aware of 3 young punks following me and I made fast paces to my truck with them close behind. Grabbed my 4" nickel plated Model 19, cocked as I drew it.  Nickel plating must have been impressive in the sun light ,especially when pointed in their direction. A sight to watch them scatter.

I did once when some idiot pulled a 1 inch blade on me and demanded my wallet, he ran screaming and I was laughing so hard I probably wouldn't have hit him even it I tried to shoot him, which is a no no when they are running away.

Didn't need to but he knew I had it, I was walking with my daughter in New Orleans at 6am so we could get to the conference I was attending. Some slug came towards us out of the alley and I simply moved my daughter to my other side and reached into my pocket. Slug backed off cursing and left. I think the air of confidence I had helped also, I knew I had him if he chose to continue moving towards us.

Yes, I've "pulled" my ccw at least three times.  My wife was beaten and raped in 1993 and I carried every day of my life after that.  So, the first two were before legal ccw existed in my state.  First one was a guy who ran me off the interstate.  I managed to recover, get back on the road and followed him, trying to get his license plate number for my insurance to cover the damage to my car.  He saw me following him and when he pulled into a gym, he got out of his car and came at me.  By the time he got to the window of my car, I had my weapon in hand.  He saw it and left.  I went too the local PD about a mile away and reported him and told them what I had done.  They simply said "thanks."  Second time was when a bunch of minority drug dealers mistook my house for someone else's house.  The first pass they made, they just tossed garbage in the yard and screamed and yelled.  The second pass they made, they tossed bottles and other stuff that hit the house.  The third pass, they shot at the house but missed all but once.  I went out after them.  When it was all over, their car was no longer functioning.  The third one happened when another group of minority druggies shot at me while I was driving down the road.  I didn't shoot back, but they saw that I wasn't going to be a victim and decided to leave.

PS. I'm pretty sure this "Owles" character is using an on-line translation program to translate the original post into his language, then writing a response in his language and then using the on-line translator to translate it into English and then posting it.  I just can't figure out which is his native language.  I suspect it's either Chinese, Japanese or Hindi.

I drew blood from the forehead of the "leader" with the front sight of the junker.  I remember saying; "I have two shots, he is first, who wants to be second?"  It is vivid in my memory the look of the guy with the junk Derringer in his forehead, He did not move a muscle, he was frozen with blood running down his face eyes as big as the moon.  They all raised their hands,  the"leader" said, we don't wan no problem wez just want a quarter."  I remember telling them I had no money to give them, they all turned and did the 500 yard dash in 4.4 seconds.  It is an experience I NEVER EVER want to live again.

No.  Thank you Lord!!  I carry either my Smith 642 or my Ruger LCR in my right front pocket.  I have on many occasions put my hand in my pocket if something didn't feel/seem right.

I was on the job, but off duty and on a first date in a bad part of a city in upstate New York. At the time I was driving a 1969 Chevy convertible...it was a warm summer night and I had the top down. While stopped at a traffic light two "Brothers" came off the side walk and approached my car. One held my left arm to the top of the driver's door, displayed a knife and told me to give him my wallet.  I begged him not to hurt me...reached for my wallet , and came up with my brand new S&W Model 19 snubbie. All I saw was a***holes and elbows....the young lady thought I was the cats pajamas and a decent human being for not shooting the guy.  B)

Just one time....I was in my car, so nobody ever knew I was ready to shoot them.    A pickup truck with a teenager in it was driving like a moron in front of me, so I passed them and continued on down the road.    They eventually stopped texting or whatever they were doing to cause them to drive so crazy and they floored it and passed me.   When they got ahead they slammed the brakes and caused me to stop behind them.    I passed them and they did it again.    The third time they did it I was getting my phone ready to call the cops and I had my gun out.   If we stopped again I was going to shoot out their tires at the very least.

Never had to draw my pistol, but did stop some punks from breaking into my truck one night.  My dog woke me up about 2:30 AM doing a real low growl.  I looked out the window and there were three cretins (early 20's?) trying to break into the cab and another trying to open the tool box.  Not 12 hours before I'd oiled the hinges on the front door so I was able to slip out without them hearing me.  "Whatch doin', boys?" really gets there attention when punctuated by the sound of a 1200 being racked!
