cancel her ticket when she mashes her dog.......
sorry didn't come out right, she ran over the tie outs and leashes with her push mower, her dad ran over their dog once though.....!!

worst part of the whole thing is she has a 18-19 year old grandson who won't lift a finger, I have never seen him mow or even take out the trash, I know he will never use it.....

I have just used a battery powered pole saw.  It was very powerful and cut thru four inch branches easily.  I would suggest she return the gas unit and get a battery operated one.  Of course that does not resolve the handling issue.

Cut the branches and store the saw at your place?? Tell her you will maintain it and if she needs anything cut to call you.  After a year or two she will forget all about it. FREE SAW!!!!!!

I was doing tree trimming for a friend using my chainsaw and pole saw.

Her grandson was helping.  He lives on the farm and no doubt knows how to use these tools.  He asked to use them - helping me to do the work.  He told me his father lets him use the one on the farm.

I told him no.  Accidents happen . . . and accidents with chainsaws can be really REALLY bad.

There was no way I was going to let him have an accident with my chainsaw.  He was visibly upset, but that is part of being an adult around the youth.

Fortunately I did not have an accident using my saws - and he worked like a rented mule loading the branches in my pickup.  He is a good kid.  I hope he understands my position - if not now perhaps in the future . . . and by "understands" I mean remembers what I said without having to experience a young man having an accident with his chainsaw in the future.

Agree with several of the above. Explain to her how dangerous those things are, offer to store it for her and cut whatever she thinks is needed, but tactfully tell her you won't let her use the thing on her own.

Sounds to me like she is in poor physical condition and won't be able to start the saw much less use it.

Go ahead and call 911 now and have them on standby. You know this is not going to end well.

Been using saws for decades and they are not anything to mess with. I can guarantee you she can't use it and she will hurt herself or worse. I had a million to one shot arm size limb come back at my head last time I used it and it could NEVER happen again the way it went down, NEVER.
