Whites with black heritage from the stone age are very quick to throw their own under the bus for not being PC enough on race.
This is because their goal is not to fight wars but to improve their employment outlook. For that, you need a political coalition with actual descendants of the transatlantic slave trade. For that, you need virtue signaling on a cancel level of fairness.
If affirmative action seekers pick on their own kind, they're not upsetting anybody else's gang. Wars are expensive. Civil disputes are too. Lawsuits, wrecked reputations, vendettas, etc., all can be avoided by simply becoming a loud, simplistic racial backbiter.
We now know that almost all of Europe has East African heritage, but it was definitely noticed in more than one country before the genetic findings came out. Places in the mountains of Germany have people with some African features and curly hair but not the color, for example.
