Some Ford employees want to stop building police cars.

If they do this it amounts to nothing more than corporate pandering for publicity and sales. I hope it bites them in the butt because if they follow through with it I will never consider buying a Ford again. Bob 3 -
Police departments need vehicles. If Ford does not want to sell them, the departments will buy them somewhere else.
If Ford does not want to sell specific vehicle types, they should not complain when customers needing those specific types buy them somewhere else.
What . . . they believe the police departments will stop driving if they can't buy a vehicle from them?
How complicated can it be?0 -
fine and dandy...when the employees get together and demand to stop making police cars...then ford can say OK...and now your jobs are done also..report to the paymaster and draw your last check..we DO NOT need you anymore....after a short period of time ford can hire people WHO WANT TO WORK... and resume building what the buyer wants 3 -
will ford crumble to their own hired scum?????? 0 -
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO GROW SOME BALLS. Is everybody just a bunch of sissies??? Are there no men left?? 0 -
How convenient that MSN did not report the full response from Ford's CEO:
https://www.businessinsider.com/employees-ask-ford-to-stop-building-and-selling-police-vehicles-2020-7#:~:text=An%20internal%20letter%20from%20Ford,police%20officers'%20%22safety.%22
Which included:
"It's not controversial that the Ford Police Interceptor helps officers do their job. The issues plaguing police credibility have nothing to do with the vehicles they're driving."0 -
They already shot themselves in the foot when they canceled the P-71 Crown Vic.I've still got one and they can bury me in it. The greatest car to ever cruise the highways of America.

Police sales were 10% of total Explorer sales in 2019 and 13% of total Explorer sales in 2018. 0 -
The Crown Vic was a fantastic patrol car. Plenty of power, speed, and stability with lots of space inside for everything and everyone. Besides, it LOOKED like a police vehicle. Today, it seems like everything can become a cop-car. Just put a light bar on it, slap on some gaudy logos and off you go. 0
