Taurus Evolution or Spectrum 380
I own 3 or 4 Taurus 380s and at least 3 357s. I do not have anything against a Taurus gun. I have never had one go bang every time i pulled the trigger. In my opinion the Taurus 380 pistol is smother than the Ruger LCP 380. However 99% of the time i carry a Ruger 380. The rest of the time i carry a 9mm on a belt holster.
My daughter sold a new 380 Taurus evolution or spectrum and the customer brought it back the next day because he could not get it to rack a round into the chamber. When i went to the store the next day to look at it for her the regional manager Mike was there. Mike and i know each other a little and he gets me to fix stuff that worked when they brought it in but no longer works.
He had been fighting trying to put the spring back in for over an hour so i put it back in about 5 minuets. It was a pain in the butt because the spring is not flat on the ends like most springs. I got everything put back together and he looked at it and could not get it to rack a round right. I asked if i could take it to my car for a few minuets and he was ok with it.
After i told him what was going on and that i could fix it if he let me take it home for the night and he was against it. He told me he would send it back and just get a new one.
In all my gun years i have never seen a gun not work out of the box. Of course i have only bought about 50 new guns. I mostly buy guns when i can get them about 50% of what they sell for.

Consider yourself lucky, that you never bought anything made by Sterling. They were out of Northern New York. And only in business, for about 15 years.dav1965 said:

For some long forgotten reason, I purchase one of their PPL 380's. Brand new in the box, it never ever worked.0 -
bought a new taurus 22 magnum revolver.....cylinders looked like home hobby harold drilled em out with a harbor freight econo drill press......took it back ...got my money back.....was told later they closed out that model and got all the old pieces and parts off the shelf and put together as many as they could ????????...have not bought another taurus 3 -

Taurus and Llama top the list with most problems. AMT, RG are a few I would avoid too.
My advice for anyone on a budget is to go HiPoint. See used ones at pawn shops and gun shows go for a little over a C note.
Never seen a HiPoint fail.0
