    "Navy SEALs arriving on the shores of our parks in combat gear, with simulated weapons; doing insertion, extraction, surveillance, reconnaissance, and direct action exercises could harm plant, bird, and animal habitats, as well as diminish the sense of sanctuary people have always sought and found in our parks."
    It's cute that they think SEALs doing a training would have simulated weapons!

    Is somebody making a map of these areas? 

    You know - where they don't want the military or law enforcement.

    Just imagine how much money that can save in the event of an emergency.  Money that could be spent in other locations.

    I think you missed the story, it has nothing to do with the current anti-police movement. This relates to military (SEAL) training in state and federal parks of Washington state. It's also a three year old "nothing burger" article.  ;)

    My question - and comment - still stand.

    If "they" don't want the military or law enforcement training in their area, do they want the military or law enforcement in their area in the event of an emergency?

    Although I did not note the date, I find that even more interesting.  This attitude of not wanting the military or law enforcement to "operate" in their area has been going on for longer than the last month or so.  Has anybody researched to see it the military or law enforcement has been . . . . ummmm, I don't know . . . helpful? . . . . in that area in the last three years?

    Eh why they would even want to train in a park seems odd to me considering we have two large military bases in Tacoma and a training center here in Yakima plus hundreds of miles of coastline and thousands of acres of National forest they can train in if needed. I have yet to see a Washington State Park that would have been worth messing around in and nothing has changed since that old link.
