Range Report Remington 700 Tactical 300 Winchester
-
Hunting season will be here before you know it !!!!!!! Happy to hear you found a good one !!!!! 0 -
I don't think that the quality of the newer model 700 rifles are an issue, maybe because of the cheaper stocks that they are using, and the reason that you swapped your's out. I think that the main reason of complaint was because of the wood to metal fit, and crooked barrels that came along with the Marlin line is what caused so much up roar, as well as the newer economy bolt action's. I recently bought a 700 varmint sps in 204 Ruger that shoots and functions well.. 0 -
What scope and base(s) are you using, 0 or 20 moa for your long range shooting?? 0 -
20 moa base and a Vortex Viper 6.5x 20.. set at 14x Mil dot. I expected way more recoil but not the case. I purchased some 195gr. eld match hornady off the seller and waiting to see how much better it will get. At 100 yd now it shoots hole in hole with factory federal hunting . Made a believer out of me on the 5R barrel. 3 -
Glad you are pleased with your new rifle Select.

Are you ordering a new stock to put back on the 25-06? 0 -
Of all the sniper rifles Chris Kyle shot no wonder he liked the .300 Winchester Mag the best.KenK/84Bravo said:Glad you are pleased with your new rifle Select.

Not to belittle your purchase, but I would have thought it would have been the Barrett .50 cal.
Something to be said for being able to shoot through a cinder block wall, and create a pink mist, on the other side.

I have a collection of cartridges. (From small to large.) In the larger, I have 7.62x54, .30-.06, .300 Win Mag, .50 cal, 20mm, 35mm, 40mm, 55mm, etc.
The .300 Win Mag, is impressive.

Actually he disliked the .50 Barrett.0 -
Never heard of any jamming issues with the Barrett .50 cal.
(But) What do I know?

Rifle shot very nice today and I cannot wait to get the hornady Eld match ammo. 0 -
I swapped stocks from the .300 it was a HS Precision. Did not have the high cheek piece or cut out for the magpul magazine. The 25/06 will shoot fine with the other stock. I just have to push feed the magazine.SCOUT5 said:Are you ordering a new stock to put back on the 25-06?0 -
It's not a description of the Barrett .50, Kyle's comments are directed at the SR-25:In his autobiography, Chris Kyle starts by describing the AR-style, semi-auto, black guns that he used, like the US Navy Mk-12 5.56 Rifle, and the SR-25 7.62 Rifle (aka Mk-11). Although those rifles served a purpose, Kyle wasn’t a huge fan of either. In fact, he talked about how the SR-25 had a bad reputation of jamming up in the field.Best.

Thanks nononesense, that sounds a little more plausible. Never heard of any jamming issues with a Barrett .50, in any configuration.

Just wondering, you said the 26-06 shot lights out. The magazines work with either round so swaps should be simple.select-fire said:
