Jewel the bolt or naw?
A couple of years I bought my son a CZ-455. It is is first rifle, and one I hope he keeps for the rest of his life.
I've been thinking about having the bolt Jeweled by a local gunsmith. Not so much for function, but it's just something I think makes a bolt gun look nicer. I asked my boy about it, he's kinda "meh" either way, he just wants to shoot...
What do you guys think? The price is low enough that it's not a factor.

Maybe his name instead? Personally though, I like jeweled bolts.. 0 -
If you do it yourself it may make it more special. It's not that hard to do and the stuff to do it is readily available. I did a couple myself years ago and they still look good. Bob 0 -

I’m with him. Don’t care for the look of jeweled bolts

My old Remington 03-A3 has a jeweled bolt and trigger. It was already like that when I bought it. It's a little worn now but still looks pretty good.

I'd go for the jeweled bolt, I have always liked the look of them.Your son will love it and the rifle will become just a little more special.
