It's not my intention of ruffling your feathers with my observations. There's usually another way to look at things and I try to present this reasonably.
No, no stock or any other benefits but I've worked with their products and services for a long time without any complaints and a lot of satisfaction. The difference is I know what to buy and what to avoid thereby saving me money and aggravation.
No, not a cheerleader either. I see no reason to condemn Remington for producing a line of cheap ammunition which has a potential for failure. Like many other types of manufacturing which take place in China and Mexico, there is always space for a cheap line of product because someone will buy it. I suggested and will continue to suggest that instead of buying cheap ammunition, take a step up and buy higher quality ammunition instead, eliminating the possibility of failure. The action of buying cheap ammo with the expectation of it performing like the more expensive ammo is fallacious. Common sense.Best.0 -
I guess I am fortunate. I have shot thousands and thousands of the Remington Golden bullets and Thunder .22 and never had one single dud. 0 -
Remington core lokts were my go to hunting round but recently I've had few squibs I don't trust them anymore.

No I have not I bought the 6.5 Grendel upper and that has replaced the 243 as my night hunting setup. I don't think I've shot that rifle since getting that bullet unstuck from the barrel

Corelokts are fair game ammo but a lot of companies have surpassed that rd. 0 -
I tested Thunderduds over a chrono. IIRC the slowest rounds were in the 740FPS range with a noticed muffled report. The fastest were around 1160 or so. Variations in manufacturing are expected for high volume ammo made to SAMMI specs. There is something lacking when the manufacturer ammo testing fails to find these issues before shipment.
I like the Remington 700 it is an excellent design. I built my 6BR on a XP-100 Action and it serves me very well barrel cold or hot shot after shot using 105 A-Max's or 80 grain Bergers. I would love to build a 30BR for fun and giggles but my airplane needs gas so for now that is on the back burner.0 -
I have kind of been a 22 nut for years and have a BUNCH of different brands on hand to see what the guns like the best. I had an Anschutz 164 sporter that loved Thunderbolts and Winchester Wildcats. At least it would love them about 7 out of 10 rounds. Bang, bang, pop, bang, pop, etc... For grins I weighed and sorted a box of each. It took a while and there wasn't a lot of difference but it was measurable. The heavier (normal) rounds shot almost as good as the 3 or 4 brands of high priced target ammo I had on hand. Life is to short to sit around weighing and sorting bargain basement 22 ammo so I stick to the middle of the price range for plinking and match loads when I want to be serious. Sadly Remington rimfire doesn't fill any of my needs. Bob 3 -

The last one on the list is from 18 years ago.Remington and any manufacturer really, has to maintain these recalls until the number of products involved has been cleared. When you're dealing with a base of literally hundreds of thousands, it's tough to get them all cleared with immediacy. Believe it or don't, not everyone gets the information right away or even at all. Even then Remington has to expect that someone will find a product in the back of a closet from 30 or 40 years ago and want the recall invoked, which it will be.You might try the same little game with a manufacturer like Takata, the company that made all the faulty air bags which were recalled.How about Glock? Or SIG, Smith & Wesson, Walther, Lyman and Ruger?

I like Remington and never had a problem with their products or services. One of the issues Remington is up against is being in NY State. With Cuomo and his minions against guns and anything gun related. They are in a bad place. 0 -

In fact, despite its nearly 200-year presence in Ilion, Remington's headquarters are in Madison, N.C. When compared to its other manufacturing facilities, Illion is just a shadow of its former self. 2019 saw a significant portion of the New York business relocated to Alabama. Also remember that Remington employs 80,000 people worldwide approximately.
