Retail isn't worth it

Went to three stores looking for a new phone case for my Samsung S7 (I know a dinosaur) Gave up ordered on Amazon will be here tomorrow Bye retailers

    Ditto--none available locally, even from the store where I bought it. I refuse to spend upwards of $700+ for a phone.

    That's an interesting concept for sure, and on the reverse side of it, why would I pay retail markup when they do not stock the item and have to "order it"?  Maybe brick and mortar could up the "service" game.  

    Cheap online retail is not what is killing brick and mortar stores, it is lousy customer service and experience.  If you can do it better, do it. If not, oh well, there is enough competition  to fill the shoes.

    Online is convenient for some things. Gun Broker is a good example. Other things I refuse to buy online. For instance I don't want the hassle of returning clothes from an online retailer. There are a lot of things that I want to have my hands on before I purchase. I refuse to go shopping at a brick and mortar and then buy the same item from Amazon to save 5 bucks. Also the I need it now kind of stuff (hardware, medicines, etc...) makes me appreciate the brick and mortar places.

    I don't even do my grocery orders online ahead of time and pick up the completed orders at the curb. I'll pick my own fresh veggies and meat instead of trusting the min wage grocery picker to get it right. If I am paying for a good steak I want to be sure of what I am getting. Bob

    Gunbroker is like Amazon for guns :)!
    I can check the prices on a substantial number of reliable sellers and when it suits me make the purchase.
    I try to throw my local guy some business but honestly he just can't get close and he knows it. He makes the 20 transfer fee which is how the business actually got started.
    I have bought and will continue to buy locally when I walk in and see something I can't live without but generally my purchases are from here.
    Side note I don't know why and I actually parted with a few but I am a sucker for Guns with PD markings, I've had Niagara Falls PD, Chicago PD, NY PD, Kentucky State Police, Etc. but the one the shop actually called me about was a SC HWP revolver,
    I walked in and they knew I would buy it LOL

    The irony of course is that Sears & J.C. Penny & Money Ward caused the same problems for local stores a century ago. First mail order & then everything under one roof. Now of course on-line stores are beginning to have to pay sales tax & shipping costs are soaring so the question is what is next? Figure that out & you can be the next billionaire.
