    Matter of opinion.  He doesn't have any losers on his list.   Excluding single shots and double barrels is suspect, but, it also depends on criteria and these didn't meet his criteria.

    But seriously, do not see any problem with his choices, as they are based on his criteria and he makes a reasoned argument for each selection.  He got number 1 right, so he did a fairly good job.

    It's fine. Hard to argue with the selections he's made since he made up his criterion. "Best" is highly dependent on "use", which he defined for his list, but did not specify in the title.

    I wouldn’t use a Beretta 92 for a boat anchor, but that’s just me...

     Since he included military with civilian use, I was disappointed to see the M2 Browning didn't make the list. Rugged and reliable don't describe it properly. That gun is nearly grunt proof.

    It’s a pretty good list. Not sure about the Mossberg 500, though. I would substitute one of the bottom eject shotguns.
