WELL JUST CRAP
bought a new hustler 54" flip up z turn mower....best dealer close to my lake place in eastern kansas...got it home a 300 mile turn rounder and parked it in the shop to learn the electric flip up and cutting height set...took it out this morn supposedly ahead of a chance for rain and worked perfect for 45 minutes...then the Kawasaki engine locked up ....drug it back to the shop and checked several things and the engine is tighter that a tick...that is the 5th hustler i have bought and no issues, the oldest 60" i still run with over 650 hours...no leaks no problems...called the dealer and told him i would check things....now there is a warranty but i did a 70 hour trade in and cash total $5500......i do not want a used mower ,i do not want a rebuilt mower...i bought a NEW mower.....we will see

Having locked-up an engine or two in my life, "Did you check the oil?" was the first thing that popped into my head.select-fire said:0 -

Dealer should have prepped it & ran it. Heck, it had to be loaded on a trailer or you'd still be cutting grass on the side of the 150 mile road. 0 -
tm286 got it ...besides me checking it all at home.....flip deck is an engineering whiz....normally i lift the left front of a mower up with a chain from the utility tractor bucket and get messy with a garden hose while laying on a creeper...here with the fine sand and blade shavings if not cleaned will harden to a concrete like glob ...did not clean out one time and had to pick the mower up with the car lift and use a flat blade bent at an angle in a air chisel to get it off...once burnt /twice learnt....with flip up u just stand there or sit in a chair with a cold one and wash away 0 -
Bummer.

called a local hustler dealer 25 miles away and told him the story (bought my first super Z from him years ago)$7600).and still got it.......50 mile round trip is a lot easier than 300 but he did not want to do a warranty cause i did not buy it there 0 -
Hope it works out for you. I'd be calling Corporate.
