Scope Mounts for Steyr Mannlicher M72

I just bought a Steyr Mannlicher M72 in 30.06 and am looking for two piece scope bases and rings.  They seem to be in short supply for this rifle and I'm wondering if rings for the later and more popular M or L series can be used.

  Thank you.  The rifle is being sold by the original owner and there are bases on the rifle.  I didn't examine them too closely as I thought @ first glance they were a Weaver type, which I was going to replace anyway.  NECG has always done well by me, quality accessories.  If the bases are factory original seems best to go with their rings too.
