Grandson Put Me In My Place
Cameron and i were going to work on my house i got from my Mother. Its about 1 1/2 hours away. We were talking and messing round and he asked to see my carry piece of the day. I handed it to him and he took the mag out and took the round out of the chamber and showed me that it was empty like i taught him to do. If you are with 2 people i like for another person to look at it and double check. Thats just a me thing i guess and i taught him that.
He looked at the gun and worked the slide back and forth and then looked at me with a serious face and said Pop whaen was the last time you cleaned this thing. He told me it was filthy and had no oil on it.
He showed the gun to me and all i could say is your right. It is filthy. Its the Ruger 380 i keep in a pocket holster and its filthy. Cameron shot all the rounds because he was concerned about the guns performance. That was ok because i keep 2 boxes in my glove box.
Cameron is a lot better shot than i was at 15. With a pistol he has a little trouble with anything over 20 yards. He just shoots a little low. I taught him to aim between the breast that way he has a bigger target area and it makes sure he hits what he is aiming at.
Now comes the taking apart and cleaning and putting back together training. He knows how to clean a gun after shooting but does not how to do a deep clean. Thats his next project along with me teaching him to Mig and Stick weld. I would teach him to tig weld but i dont know how and i dont have a tig welder.

You both failed the test.You should have cleared the gun and he should have refused to take it until you did.0 -
My 19 year old grandson can out shoot me with any gun I hand him. 0 -
I had the pistol in a pocket holster and i handed him everything. I was driving so i did not try and unload the gun. Removing the mag was easy but unchambering a round i did not want to do it driving.

If their is any hope of saving the 2A much of that Hope is what we pass on to our kids and what they gain from it. I know, I know some say we have lost the 2A, still thank you dav1965 for pointing your grandson in the right direction. 0
