Knife Rating
I got a knife really cheap maybe 10 cent or less. Its an orange camo Old Time model number 1085931. I bought it thinking it was worth about 25 or 30 dollars but it was like 15 when i found one for sale but they were out of stock. I can not sharpen a knife if my life depended on it. I just plain suck. However after 2 minuets i was shaving the hair on my arm. I knocked off about a 1 x 2 inch square before i noticed it. Thats a rare thing for me to do.
If it stays sharp anytime at all it is well worth the money. I put my Kershaw knife up to make sure i did not lose the expensive one.
I would buy a new one with the way this used one works.

The old , pre bankruptcy carbon steel knives were easy to sharpen . The new , china made, stainless steel, are too hard to sharpen well . Give me a good high carbon blade any day 0 -
Dave, have you tried the Lansky system?

LOL I have 2 of them. I use that to touch the knife up but when i cant sharpen it anymore i reset the angles with an electric sharpener. Thats the only way i can do it right. The Lansky is the only stone system i can use. 0 -
Knives made with poor quality steel are often easy to sharpen, but dull quickly. 0
