Blood sugar scare

Yesterday morning just after daybreak, the wife woke up hearing me making unusual and  incoherent noises. I was acting and talking "nuts".  Laying in the floor next to the bed.  Wife tried but couldn't get me up.  Told me later she thought I was having a stroke.  I was blabbering out of my head.  She called for paramedics and, upon their arrival,  asked about my medication and aliments (diabetic, high blood pressure, COPD).  Immediately they checked my blood sugar level and got a reading of "46". Almost coma stage.  Stuck me with a large syringe and pumped something in my vein.  In just a few seconds, I was totally a different person.  Within 5 minutes blood sugar was normal.

I've had low blood sugar before, but nothing like that.  I was on the verge of leaving this old earth.  Almost scared my wife to death.

Gonna have to start paying more attention to my blood sugar levels.

    You should schedule a visit with your doctor.  Your meds - and your diet - need adjusting.  Wild swings in your blood sugar are not good.

    When my wife's blood sugar goes too low she will stand in the middle of a busy street waving her cane around and argue with me that there's nothing wrong and she will eat when she gets home.

    After she gets her sugar level back up she becomes reasonable and agrees she should listen to me.

    Try a reading of " 886 " !!! Mine was that a few years ago when they discovered I was diabetic ??? What a week in the ICU !!!

    Many yrs ago was headed down a county rd  by rentals going to another town and seen a pest control small truck ran off the road. Went by fast and couldn't see anyone in it. Came back by an hour later and someone was bent over the steering wheel. So I turn around. Go up to the truck , window is part down and this young guy was babbling and slurring speech big time. I left and went back to the rentals and called their business... I said look you have one of your trucks slid off the road over here and the driver is drunk as hell.  Woman I called said they had been trying to get in touch with him for close to two hours.  She kept me on the phone while they called 911 for an ambulance. I went back and the ambulance had him on a stretcher pounding on his heart and had an IV in him. Law was there too.. Paramedic shook his head back and forth like the guy wasn't going to live.  Said his blood sugar was past fatal. Whatever that meant..  The next day I get  a call from his wife and she is crying and crying and slobbering on the phone. Said I saved her husbands life by stopping .  He lived to see another termite job. ...

    Mine used to get that low every now and then but not in the last few years, I eat to much now.
