1911 pistols

I kind of agree with you but lately I am finding a new love in the 9 mm. Getting old is not for weenies. I am finding out that lower recoiling handguns are MUCH more fun to shoot. I used to think that full house 44 mag loads were fun to shoot. Recently I shot my 44 mag, not with a hot load, and my hand and wrist hurt for two days.
I wish I had a full size 1911 in a 9 mm. I would think it would be easy on my old hands!0 -
I want a 1911 in every rimless pistol caliber. 0 -
9mm or .40 > I would prefer a bobtail commander in .38super-Forward cocking serrations > look like crap-Full length guide rods > Don't like carrying a wrench to field striparched mainspring housing > All my 1911's are arched. IMO they look WAY better and are more comfortable too.Of all the high end gun smiths > Doug Turnbull is No. 1 in my book !

Favorite affordable 1911 > Rock Island Armory

I’ve got a colt 1911 in 9m. Fun to shoot! 0 -
Well my goal is a 2011 in 10 Mike. As far as dislikes, yes, the forward serrations, plus those hollowed out/open hammer spurs. Look dumb IMO. If one could just drop in a hammer, mine would be long gone. 3 -
I like guns. 0 -

2 45's , 10mm, 9mm and a 357 if I take the wife with me to the range I never see the 9mm one back. I like the Coonan a lot better then I ever thought I would when I bought it I was concerned about the wider grips but it actually fits me pretty good0 -
Yes sir, I figured as such. I don't quite see the reason though. Must have to do with weight of the hammer? Fill me in Forge.forgemonkey said:
HPD,,,,,With all due respect, there's a reason for those and the skeletonize trigger.Horse Plains Drifter said:Well my goal is a 2011 in 10 Mike. OH, thank you Forge, I was sure there was a reason to that. 0 -
I've become a fan of forward 'slanted' serrations when dealing with a 18 lb+ hard ball spring. 0 -
Full length guide rod, I got no issue as long as the barrel is bully. Accessory rail is the worst. 0 -
The Colt 1911 is a proven reliable design, there is no better hand gun in the world. Forward serrations are just someone’s idea at trying to make it look impressive, tactical looking maybe. Recoil guides are for making it more target accurate, but serve little as far as reliability. I could care less about amberdexrius safety, I’m right handed. I do like the flat back strap over the arched, it just seems to fit my hand better. I cared a 1911A1 when I was in the army, I’ll have to admit the one I had wasn’t the most accurate in the world, but it never fail to go BANG and cycle rounds when I pulled the trigger, but then again god only knows how many people or rounds had been fired through it over the years before I had it. The 45ACP round is the perfect defense round, the stopping power is almost unequalled in a cartridge it size.

This my favorite 1911...the Hi Power carry cuts are sexy, and it's an excellent shooter.

Love the 1911s. Last couple weeks. Found this unfired 1985 Colt officers ACP in a LGS when picking up the two 38 supers off the auction side.
