    Clearly something that need to run 1.4 watts.

    Look specific purpose verses generic.  To someone needing them for their purpose they are probably worth a few bucks.  What that purpose/application is, I don't know.
    Right now they are only worth something to the guy that sold them to you at the auction.  Sorry. 
    Hope someone comes along that knows their application.

    DC Shunt Meter used to measure DC current.  Dial is set up for a specific application.
    Fresh out of school, I worked for a company that had a full NIST instrumentation lab, we could set these up and print the dials for any application.
    I still see them in old power houses
    I would think that the value is more nostalgia
