Thermal Camera

I have the chance to buy the compact pro the red one for 100 dollars with no tax. I was thinking about whether it would ever come in handy other than another toy to play with. I think if its hooked up to a tablet it would be fun.
Also i was thinking it might help spot people in the woods around my house if i never needed it.
Any ideas

  For that kind of money, I’d like to try one. Where I worked, we used a FLIR camera that cost over $3000. I’m maintenance, it was an invaluable tool.
  I could think of many uses for it around the home.

  I worked maintenance also and i have a thermal laser gun but not a camera. I was thinking of defense rather than mechanical. It would be nice to see people in the area around me because other than the front driveway im surrounded by woods except for maybe 30 feet.
