I read the write up on this on the DOJ site after your initial post. It sounds like the 3-4 largest players in the Tuna field were all involved in this. Bumble Bee paid a $25 million fine, Starkist paid a $100 million fine. The Bumble Bee CEO went to Prison because he organized the whole shebang. The other three testified against him.

As the DOJ pointed out, price fixing an essential commodity, like our Food, will not be tolerated.

    Glad they all got caught.

I did receive a check on that back several years ago. Seems like it was about 90 cents or something like that.

I think that lawsuits like this should be paid in product.ย  Including the class action plaintiff attorneys.

the frickin lawyers get it ALL....years ago i got a class action award for i do not remember what ..it involved millions and i got $2.50....lawyers took most all of it.....i got cross ways with a bank on a note about 50 years ago when i had two years of late MAY freeze damage a wheat crop..they got nasty over a $1800.00 loan i could not pay..i could pay the interest...so another bank said sure we will help and i paid the first bank off and left about $300 in if i needed it...years later i got a check for $2.55 and note saying they were closing my (inactive) account out and had charged $5 a month service fee till it was all gone ...WITHOUT any monthly or yearly notice..... watch, do not trust a bank or lawyer...i never cashed that last check and still have it stuck to my bulletin board as a reminder..........first years of farming with only 2 dryland quarters and working a full time job.......ended up with 700 acres irrigated and 1550 acres dryland which i did mostly by myself till i wore out and quit

It's going to take a Can opener, (since he is in the Can.) to Spring him. (Jail break.)

I hope he is not too smelly, when he comes out.

The whole school of fish monger's were looking for a SUCKER to take their blame away.ย

Promises of catch and release deflected off the scales of justice when the Bumble Bee guy claimed he could tune a piano but was unable to tune a fish!!ย ย :s
