Oakie, I really like it when you post, you don't stop in here often enough anymore.   But I am sorry you had to post this.  I'm sure it is very painful.

Lord, why you would accept prayers from a sinner like me I don't understand, but could you please help Oakie's friend??

That is just awful.    I just cannot imagine being hit by a tree.   They are so much more heavy and unforgiving than they look when they are headed in any direction.     I hope your friend recovers faster than people expect.   It sounds like he's made of pretty strong stuff to make it as far as he has.......and he must be a wonderful gun to have so many friends jump in to help like yall have.

Prayers asked for your friend Oakie.

When I was 18 I had a tree hit me in the head and fractured my skull and put a hole in the membrane around the brain. I had brain surgery to patch the hole because I was leaking ceribial fluid and got meningitis three times. That was many years ago and I know they can do miracles nowadays for your friend. I turned out ok and I pray your friend will too. If he ever wants to talk to someone that’s been thru what he’s going thru , he is free to call me anytime. I can help him understand what he’s feeling and about his brain. Gary

    Our best for your friend.
Oakie, people with brain injuries get better until they don't.  The point is it can be a quick recovery or it can take years and you never know at what point improvement will stop .  But some generalities are, most of the improvement will happen in the first six months and there is generally no improvement after five years.  There are a lot of known factors and many unknown.   It really is wait and see.   In the mean time the doctors will be doing what they can to give him the best chances for the most recovery.

Lost a friend last year Oak, bout the same way. He was a pro tree guy, his son was about to drop a “normal” looking tree like they did every day. He stepped in and told the son he’d handle this one. Tree blew out, killed him in front of his son. It does happen that fast. R.I.P. Brian.

My thoughts go out to you and your friend Oak.
