Knife ?
What would you put on a knife to keep the blade from rusting. I was thinking of car wax on the blade. I can get knives from my daughters pawn shop from free to 10 dollars. I have a bunch of junk knives i am going to resell some day and some keepers. I was thinking about waxing the blades of the cheep ones and putting them in 5 gallon buckets and storing them in the shop. Would they do ok in the shop or do they need to stay inside?

Wax will work. Any grease will last a few years. Best to keep indoors. Carbon Steel will rust in humidity. I lost a stainless steel folder in the cabin driveway in November. Found it nest summer after snow and rain. It was in perfect condition. 0 -
I use vegetable oil for knives that are specifically for food.. 0 -
Food grade mineral oil works for me. But I am hard on knives so I tend to buy stainless. 0
